In keeping with the provisions of the Privacy Act 2020, this site and program are committed to an individual’s right to keep personal information private. Personal information may be collected from you or by which your identity may be reasonably determined. Such personal information may include:

- Transaction Data including details about payments to you from us and from you to us and other details of products and services you have purchased from us;
- Background Verification Data including your government issued identification details requested as part of our Know Your Customer process to comply with our due diligence obligations, anti-money laundering laws and related ongoing monitoring commitments;
- Technical and Usage Data when you access any of our websites or platforms, details about your internet protocol (IP) address, login data, browser session and geo-location data, statistics on page views and sessions, device and network information, acquisition sources, search queries and/or browsing behaviour, access and use of our website (including through the use of Internet cookies or analytics), and communications with our website;
- Profile Data including your username and password for our website, purchasers or orders you have made with us, and support requests you have made;
- Interaction Data including information you provide to us when you participate in any interactive features, including surveys, contests, promotions, activities or events;
- Marketing and Communications Data including your preferences in receiving marketing from us and our third parties and your communication preferences; and
- Professional Data including where you are a worker of ours or applying for a role with us, your professional history such as your previous positions and professional experience.
- How Personal Information is Collected.
We collect most personal information in a variety of ways, including:
- Directly from you or one of our vendors using this card service. We may collect this when you apply and register a new prepaid card, complete a replacement card application, deal with us over the telephone, send us a letter, visit our website, complete a form on our website or call us;
- When you call our Contact Centre, we may also monitor and/or record telephone calls to train staff and verify statements made during the call;
- When you apply for a job with us;
- From third parties, such as details of your use of any website we operate (from our analytic and cookie providers and marketing providers. See Cookies section below for more details on the use of cookies); and
- From publicly available sources, such as social media or the New Zealand Companies Office.
Why do we need your Personal Information?
- We will only ask for personal information relevant to our business relationship with you. We will tell you the main reasons for asking for your personal information when we seek it from you. If you do not provide some personal information, we may be unable to provide you with the products or services you want.
- The main reasons why we will seek personal information from you are:
- to check your eligibility for, or to provide you with financial products or services;
- to assist you with your inquiries or concerns;
- for internal recordkeeping, administrative, invoicing and billing purposes;
- for analytics (including profiling on our website) market research and business development, including to operate and improve our business, associated applications and associated social media platforms;
- for advertising and marketing, including to send you promotional information about our events and experiences and information that we consider may be of interest to you;
- to run promotions, competitions and/or offer additional benefits to you;
- if you have applied for employment with us, to consider your employment application;
- to verify your identity and undertake cardholder due diligence; and
- To comply with our legal obligations or if otherwise required or authorised by law.;
- We may also ask for your personal information because we must collect it for legal purposes under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2009. This Act requires us to ask you for information to check your identity (for instance, by referring to your passport, birth certificate or driver’s licence). We will not use any information collected under these Acts for any other purpose

- in hard copy or paper files
- We store all information in accordance with the new Zealand Privacy Principles.
Do we ever disclose your information to 3rd parties?
- We may disclose your personal information to third parties if they help us with our business or you request or consent.
- Types of third parties include:
- parties involved in providing, managing or administering your products or services, such as third-party suppliers, printers, postal services, authorised representatives and our legal, tax, audit and accountancy advisers.
- parties maintaining, reviewing and developing our business systems, procedures and infrastructure, including testing or upgrading our computer systems.
- alliance partners, for example, where you have a Co-Branded product such as the iChoose Co-Brand or Fully Branded prepaid card.
- parties involved in the payments system, including financial institutions, merchants and payment organisations.
- We may also disclose your personal information to third parties in circumstances where:
- we must fulfil our legal obligations.
- It can be reasonably inferred from the circumstances that you consent to the disclosure of your personal information to a third party.
- We may also send your personal information outside New Zealand where, for example:
- You have requested or consented to us sending your personal information.
- we outsource a function or service to an overseas contractor with whom we have a contractual arrangement. It is necessary to investigate or facilitate a transaction on your behalf.
- We will not send your personal information outside New Zealand unless it is authorised by law and we are satisfied that the recipient has adequate data protection arrangements.
We will only disclose your personal information overseas in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Principles.

- We have enabled Google Analytics Advertising Features. We and third-party vendors may use first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookie) or other first-party identifiers, and third-party cookies (such as Google advertising cookies) or other third-party identifiers together. These cookies and identifiers may collect Technical and Usage Data about you.

How do we protect personal information?
- We take all reasonable precautions to protect your personal information under the Privacy Act 2020, whether stored in hard copy or electronic form, from loss, unauthorised access, modification, and unauthorised disclosure. Your personal information is only accessible by you and by those who are authorised to access it. Our employees and third parties with whom we deal are bound by confidentiality obligations.
- Locks and security systems secure Hard-copy documents on our premises and at archive sites. Whenever possible, they are returned to you and not kept on our premises.
- Electronic data is protected by up-to-date computer and network security systems, which include appropriate firewalls, encryption technology, virus software, and access passwords.
- We also seek to ensure that confidential face-to-face discussions occur in a secure environment between you and us.
- Depending on any legal obligations to retain your personal information for a certain period, if we do not require your personal information, we will take reasonable steps to destroy it securely or remove identifying features from it.
Is our website secure?
- We appreciate that you may have concerns in relation to the confidentiality and security of your personal information on the internet. Therefore, we have implemented systems to ensure your personal information is secure and confidential when you access our website or my account.
- When we collect your personal information over the Internet, it proceeds via our secure server, which uses encryption technology. How can you access your personal information?
- We maintain the quality of your personal information by taking reasonable steps to ensure that the information collected, used and disclosed is accurate, complete and up to date.
- In accordance with the Privacy Act 2020, You have the right to access your personal information at any time by emailing card support with a request for personal information to info@ichoosecard.co.nz
- If you request to access archived personal information, we may charge you a fee. The fee will be discussed with you before we act on your request. We cannot give you access to your personal information if we are prevented by law or if access would reveal the personal information of another person.
Do we use cookies on our site?
- We may use cookies on our website from time to time. Cookies are text files placed in your computer’s browser to store your preferences. Cookies, by themselves, do not tell us your email address or other personally identifiable information. However, they do recognise when you return to our online website and allow third parties to cause our advertisements to appear on your social media and online media feeds as part of our retargeting campaigns. Do we use Google API Services?
- We use Google’s Application Programming Interface (API) Services to Assist with Customer Service of inbound and outbound emails and phone inquiries related to your iChoose card.
- Our use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements (set out in the Google API Services User Data Policy).
- We limit our use of the personal information that we collect to providing or improving our business.
- We do not use the personal information for any other purposes.
- We only transfer the personal information to others if it is necessary to provide or improve our business or as necessary to comply with applicable law or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets where we notify you of this.
- We do not use or transfer the personal information for serving ads, including retargeting, personalised or interest based advertising.
- We don’t allow humans to read the personal information unless
- we have first received your consent to view specific messages, files or other data;
- it is necessary for security purposes (such as investigating a bug or abuse);
- our use is limited to internal operations and the personal information (including derivations) have been aggregated and anonymised.
- These restrictions apply to the raw data we obtain from the restricted scopes and data that is aggregated, anonymised or derived from them.
- We have policies and procedures in place setting out appropriate safeguards for protecting your personal information obtained with the Google APIs. We will also ensure that our employees, agents, contractors and successors comply with the Google API Services Data Policy.
Your rights and controlling your personal information
- Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. If you provide personal information to us, you understand we will collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. You do not have to provide personal information to us, however, if you do not, it may affect our ability to do business with you.

- From time to time, we may need to review our Privacy Policy. We reserve the right to change our Privacy Policy at any time and to notify you by posting an updated version on our cardholder websites. The date our Privacy Policy is last updated will be noted at the end of the Policy. We recommend you check our website regularly to ensure you are aware of our current Privacy Policy.
